Question: Why would I use an O2 Mask if I am trying to avoid free radical degradation?
Answer: When we use the O2 Lift Mask, we are helping to increase the Oxygen Consumption of the skin. Increased oxygen consumption is a benefit of exercise, but when we exercise, we only increase muscular oxygen consumption. Unfortunately we cannot increase cutaneous oxygen consumption by working out. Increased O2 consumption is really a toning and firming process. So we apply the oxygen activator in the O2 to help tone and firm the skin.
When we talk about oxygen free radicals this is a different molecule entirely. Chemically it represents three oxygen atoms that come together to form an unstable molecule which in chemistry is represented as O3 instead of oxygen, which is O2. The O3 can lead to many destructive changes in cells including cell aging and skin cancer. When we increase the O2 in the skin with the O2 Lift Mask, we are helping to restore skin health instead of oxidizing the tissue, which is a specific term we reserve for O3 instead of O2.
